Andy Griffiths Strikes Again!

YC is a happy man! "Just" cartoons will be just the trick!
'What's With Andy?' chronicles the life of teenager Andy Larkin, a self-proclaimed master prankster whose goal is to be the greatest practical joker in the world. His goal would be realised if his schemes didn't backfire every time. With dry-witted, sarcastic pal Danny as his side-kick, Andy stumbles through a maze of frantic slapstick adventures, farcical escapades and bizarre pastimes that reflect the eccentric mischief of this engaging but quirky joke-a-holic. Andy loves the sheer thrill of a good practical joke, and once he's committed to a prank, there's no turning back.

SECOND SEASON OF HANDBALL
The second season finished with a great final between Ryan and Ethan. Both players showed excellent skill in returning the ball, especially from deep serves to the back of the court. Ethan is planning to be champion next season, but Ryan wants to hang onto the #1 crown. Will Murphy make his move?
Stay tuned!
The female final was played between Fabiola and Caitlin. Both girls played a tight game, with Fabiola having the edge.
What is going to happen next season?

SUPERFISH
Friday saw the two "superfish" Holly and Felicity compete with other schools in the District meet.
"I was happy with my time of 45.31 for the race," said Felicity.
Was she overawed by the size of the other girls?
"Yes!"

HANDBALL
Murphy won the handball final against Ethan in a tight thriller. Both Ethan and Murphy showed a great deal of skill, evident in their long rallies.
Mara showed that she is improving with more games under her belt. Tahlia is becoming a champion finisher ... what will happen this season!!!!

WOW!

The new school year has just begun. On Monday, Dance Fever began at school. At Dance Fever we learnt a special kind of dancing. To prepare for our dance lessons, Mr B showed us two excerpts from two movies. One was called, "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." What amazing dancing!

We have done a Science experiment about erosion. We poured water over soil and rocks to demonstrate how water can erode soil. We discovered that the water will flow around the rocks but wash the soil away.

Blog Rules

4/5 are developing Blog Rules to ensure that we all enjoy our Blogging experience. Parents should discuss these rules with the children and leave a comment.

Kids' Rules for Blogging Safely:

1. I will not post my own or other’s personal information such as surnames, addresses, telephone numbers, birthdays, or the name and location of my school.
2. I will tell my parents/teacher right away if I come across any comment or information that makes me feel uncomfortable.
3. I will never agree to get together with someone I "meet" online without first checking with my parents. If my parents agree to the meeting, I will be sure that it is in a public place and bring my mother or father along.
4. I will never post a close up picture of myself or others. I will be careful that nothing in a picture could identify me or my school.
5. I will not respond to any comments that are mean or in any way make me feel uncomfortable and will report them to my parents/teacher.
6. I will not access areas outside my blog without permission from my parents/teacher.
7. I will not give out my Internet/Blog password to anyone (even my best friends) other than my parents/teacher.
8. I will check with my parents/teacher before downloading or installing software or doing anything that could possibly hurt the school’s computers or jeopardize my family’s or school’s privacy.
9. I will be a good online citizen and not post anything that could hurt or offend other people or is against the law.
10. I will share my blog with my parents and others so they will understand how to have fun and learn things online.

If we all follow these rules, blogs are an excellent way to communicate and learn.

Learning to Blog; Blogging to Learn

Here is a Teacher Tube video made by a teacher in New Zealand. It shows just some of the things we can learn from Blogging.
