What will 2009 hold in stall for our intrepid students?

Will the boys enjoy their first stint playing for Iona? Will the girls play sport for SJV? Where is the next camp going to be? Will SJV win an award at the EKKA music festival?

Hmmm... incidentally, I'd like to keep blogging in 2009 with an interesting theme ... books ...what do you think?

1. doing bead work with my class



2. making Christmas cards with my class



3. singing Christmas carols with my class



4. Christmas lunch



5. Christmas dinner



6. Christmas mass ... particularly Christmas Eve



7. finding presents for people



8. saying "Merry Christmas"



9. getting together with my brothers and passing the footy around



10. watching Christmas movies like "Miracle On 34th Street"(the real one)



11. ringing distant friends and relatives in distant countries over Christmas



12. hoping everyone has a peaceful time, free from illness and injury

Well, it was a big night. Everyone did magnificently, and I congratulate you on your hard work. Some people might like to seriously consider Drama as a subject in secondary. You’re good!

Well, some shock results in the "smash test". Tasman's group was stunned at the strength of their brick. The Henay Hydrate team STILL hasn't broken their brick at 2.6 metres. Whoa! What is the secret of their success?

This is a very exciting Olympics. There are a huge number of competitors, a large number of sports, and some very strong and skilful athletes. What is your favourite moment? Who is your "best and fairest?"

Underwater World

Ever since I was young I used to think that sharks were menacing creatures. After going to Underwater World, I know this is NOT the case. We should protect the shark. Indeed, the fate of the grey nurse shark hangs in the balance. It would be a tragedy if this shark disappeared forever. What do you think?

Mary MacKillop ... On Again!

The Catholic Church is investigating whether the curing of an Australian woman from inoperable lung cancer may be a miracle by Mary McKillop.
The vice postulator of Sister Mary McKillop's case for sainthood, Sister Maria Casey, says in 1993 the woman was told she had weeks to live.
However the woman prayed to Mary MacKillop and ten months later there was no sign of the cancer.
Sister Casey says this may be the miracle needed for Sister McKillop to become a saint.

Yes, extremely angry. They have done this to Harry Potter and now they are doing this to the C. S Lewis books … THE MOST BELOVED CHILDREN’S BOOKS OF THE 20th CENTURY!
“Prince Caspian” has an “M” rating !!!!!
An “M” rating is the most bizarre, unbelievable move from the OFLC, considering that the movie is PG in the U.S.A.
Some of you watched “The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe” by the same company. Is there something I am missing?

Marian Apparitions in France 'Recognized'

On Sunday 4th May during a Mass celebrated in the town of Laus in the French Alps, Bishop Jean-Michel de Falco of Gap, accompanied by numerous cardinals and archbishops from around the world, announced the official approval of the Church of the Marian apparitions to Benôite (Benedicta) Rencurel between 1664 and 1718.

During the Mass, attended by Roman Curia officials including Cardinal Javier Lozano Barragan, Bishop de Falco noted these are the first Marian apparitions to be approved in the 21st century by the Vatican and the Church in France. He called it the most singular event to take place in France since the apparitions of Lourdes in 1862.
